About

Pippa Willow began with a simple idea: childhood deserves a little more quiet.

I'm Esther, the person behind Pippa Willow Books. This wasn't a business plan first; it was an idea I held onto for years before I finally sat down and made it real. I wanted something for the quieter parts of the day, the after-school lull, the rainy Sunday, the ten minutes before bed that didn't involve a screen.

So I started making coloring and activity books built around that feeling. Gentle themes. Simple designs. Pages sized for little hands and short attention spans, meant to hold a child's focus without asking too much of them.

Making things is nothing new for me. I was born and raised in France, in a family where everyone was always creating. My brothers and I practically grew up in our father's garage, building, inventing, drawing. I studied art and architecture at the Beaux-Arts, moved to New York in the late 80s, and have spent the past three decades as a graphic designer. I also work today as a visual editor at a renowned international newspaper.

Every Pippa Willow book still comes from that same starting point: calm, screen-free books for growing minds. That's the whole idea, really — and I'm glad you're here.
